About Me

For the past seven years I have worked as a teacher in middle and high school classrooms. At my most recent position I have collectively revised and improved reading and writing curriculum to better fit a balanced literacy framework. My interest in instructional design started with collaboratively building this curriculum using problem-based learning strategies to engage and motivate students. More importantly, my experience working within a Professional Learning Community (PLC) has allowed me to work as a part of an efficient and effective team to achieve student growth goals.  

​My passion for writing educational content started ever since I attended University of Illinois UC as an English major. After teaching for the past seven years, this same love for creating, designing, and presenting information, content, and lessons has continued. I enjoy helping students apply knowledge while also guiding conversations to help build a stronger community of learners. My ability to lead in the classroom has definitely been a part of my student's reading and writing achievements.

​Furthermore, my leadership experiences within my recent teaching position include being a part of the School Leadership Team as well as the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Committee. These opportunities have allowed me to showcase my planning, organizational capabilities, and my keen attention to detail. I have been able to create presentations and content that have been used by all staff for the purposes of student learning.
